The French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI) and the French Academy of Sciences will award in 2022 three to four prizes to highlight and strengthen bilateral research cooperation already underway between France and Portugal. The Tremlin Mariano Gago Prize honors 2022 as the year of the France-Portugal season, organized and funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, the French Ministry of Culture, the Portuguese Camoes (Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua) and the Portuguese GEPAC (Gabinete de Estratégia, Planeamento e Avaliação Culturais).
Joint research projects uniting two teams, one French and the other Portuguese, will receive funding for two years to be continued and expanded.
